Give us things that are alive and flexible which won't last too long and become an obstruction and weariness.

There is little chance that meteorologists can solve the mysteries of weather until they gain an understanding of the mutual attraction of rain and weekends. Is this the life I chose? A shovel and a snow blower, shoveling and blowing snow off the driveway... My winter life in the Diaspora !!

It's the loneliest feeling in the world  to find yourself standing up when everyone else is sitting down. To have everybody look at you and say "what's the matter with him?" I know what it feels like. Walking down an empty street covered with snow, listening to the sound of your own footsteps. Shutters closed, blinds drawn, doors locked against you.
